Thirty minutes to prepare. An unfamiliar topic. And a debate where every argument and response mattered!
Four students from The Niranjana School participated in SAMVAAD 2026, a parliamentary-style debating competition organised by SDPS International School, Indore.
Our participants were:
- Dakshita Jain of Grade 9
- Shreevidya Udupi of Grade 10
- Aishwarya Bundela of Grade 10
- Maitreyee Tiwari of Grade 11
Unlike a conventional prepared debate, the competition required participants to respond to topics revealed on the spot, with just 30 minutes to organise their arguments and prepare their approach.
The mystery-topic finale added another challenge, testing the ability to think quickly, communicate clearly and respond to different perspectives.
For our students, SAMVAAD was an opportunity to put their debating skills into practice in a competitive setting, where preparation, teamwork and adaptability were equally important.
